Event Speaker

YES, Barry is available for public speaking events!

Barry's talks are unique and highly relevant to our time.  His presentations are tailored to your audience and will captivate them with a fascinating ride in a Virtual Time Machine.

Time travel is not only possible, we do it all the time using stories, imagination and scientific data.  Sometimes we call it hindsight - the ability to look back at our experiences and learn - or sometimes we call it foresight - when we imagine a future we are heading for.  There are many physical time machines we use to trigger our virtual time machines, think of books, movies, spreadsheets, campfire stories, science and computer simulation models.

As a Systems Ecologist, Barry starts with the end in mind and shares how to apply a systems understanding that "everything is connected" in order to imagine a future that does not yet exist, and then reverse engineer the steps needed to be followed in order to get there.  This systems understanding is in essence Cumulative Effects.

Barry will share with your audience examples from his own research and studies as well as those of other leading edge scientists, traditional knowledge holders, planners and decision-makers.  Your audience will leave feeling inspired with the know-how to use this knowledge themselves to write their own story, to create the future.

If you would like Barry to speak at your event, contact him at [email protected]
